Grunnskóli Snæfellsbæjar is located in three places: Hellissandur, Ólafsvík and Lýsuhóll. The school is participating in two Comenius projects.

The goals of Grunnskóli Snæfellsbæjar are:- everyone should feel good at school and all students form a positive self esteem.- pupils set their own goals according to their capacity- to increase independence, knowledge and social skills- all interactions shall be based upon mutual respect and be without prejudice- to emphasize trust and good cooperation between the family and the school. |
The motto of the school is: respect – wisdom – broad mindedness. There are 249 pupils in the school and 32 teachers. 40 pupils and 5 teachers are participating in the project. |
