Comenius 1 Project – School projects

“Traces of today in the future”

Project objectives

to know, to exploit  natural, anthropic and cultural environment through the collection and analysis of the materials which compound and characterise it

to make artistic creations with the collected materials and to catalogue these on technical, imaginary and historical- cultural basis

to compare the artistic creations made by the various partner countries to learn similarities and differences

to carry out a museum for the future with the partner schools

Expected aims

to promote the knowledge of the natural, anthropic and cultural environment;

to promote ecological sensibility in industries and crafts;

to promote cooperation among different institutions, local authority and the school;

to develop an aesthetic sensibility towards the environment;

to develop creativity in every aspect

Description of the developed activities

analysis of the habitat -  walks in the territory;

collection and classification of materials;

research aimed at the knowledge of the popular and local imagination;

creation of works of art inspired by the characters of the popular/local imagination using the collected materials (collage, sculptures, pottery, paintings…. – Land Art);

technical-scientific file productions on the materials used to make the works;

creation of “imaginary” files inspired by the produced artistic work and by the popular imagination which has stimulated the production (inventing stories, nursery rhymes, songs…)

Description of the activities for the school year 2005/2006 (in development)

analysis of the home environment where the child lives;

delivery of a questionnaire to find the objects the children are fond of and that could tell the posterity what we are now and how we live;

collection and classification of objects commonly used;

creation of works of art using the collected objects;

production of files about the objects used to make the works (expression of feelings, physical description of objects, history of objects, steps to make the work, the work as source of inspiration: stories, nursery rhymes, songs….)

Estimated activities for the school year 2006 -2007

The activities will start by analysing the economical environment (crafts, industry, agriculture…). Specific stages of work will be decided in the meeting of September 2006 in Esplugues de Llobregat - Barcellona
